Exporting and importing content

To make it easier to re-use content in different courses, environments, events and templates, Content can be exported from Heropa as a JSON file and then imported into other instances or regions of the Heropa platform.

Exporting content

1. From the Left Navigation menu choose Content, to view the Content library.
2. In the Content library, select the Export row action; OR Select the Content item to export, then select Export from the Top Navigation menu. 
3. This will download the content as a JSON file to your local computer.

Importing content

1. From the Left Navigation menu choose Content, to view the Content library.
2. From the Top Navigation menu, select Import.
3. In the Import content window, complete the following information:
   • Select file: Select the JSON file to upload as content. 
   • Name: Add the name of the content being imported.
   • Select Create. Only JSON file formats from Heropa will be accepted.

If the content import is successful, the content will be added to the Content library with a status of draft, and visibility of private. These settings can then be modified by the content owner to make the content visible to other users.
