A video-only course is a course with no virtual machines in it. The course can be launched so the video can be viewed in the Heropa workspace, but no resources are consumed.

Creating a template
First, a template needs to be created with no VMs.
- From the left navigation menu, select Templates, then select Add.
- In the Create new template window, complete the following information:
- Company: Select the company that will own the template.
- Users with a global role type can create a template for any company. Users with a company role type can create a template for their own company only.
- Select 'Share with all companies' if the template is to be available to all companies. For more information, see: Sharing resources across Companies.
- Title: Each template requires a name.
- Region: Templates reference resources located in a single geographic region. Given that there will be no resources added to this template, any region can be selected.
- Select Create.
- Company: Select the company that will own the template.
This template can be re-used in any video-only courses.
Creating a course
- From the Left Navigation menu choose Courses, and then click Add from the Top Navigation menu.
- In the Create new course window complete the following information:
- Company: Select the company that will own the course.
- Users with a global role type can create a course for any company. Users with a company role type can create a course for their own company only.
- Select 'Share with all companies' if the course is to be available to all companies. For more information, see: Sharing resources across Companies.
- Name: This is the name of the course that will appear in the user's library
- Region: Select the region to store your course
- Template: Select the template created earlier, that has no VMs
- Code: The course code must be unique and can be aligned with corporate standards.
- Policy: Select a policy to apply to the course
- Select Create.
You will be redirected to the Course details page.
Adding a video to the course
- From the Course Details, select the Configuration tab
- In the Video section, add the URL of the video. This needs to be copied from supported video platforms, namely:
- YouTube: In YouTube, select the video then select Share / Embed. In the Embed Video window, copy the Embed URL. For example, https://www.youtube.com/embed/EoUi2DmAHIY.
- Wistia: In Wistia, select Share, then Embed. This automatically copies the link. Check the link is the correct format.
- Vimeo: In Vimeo, select Share, then copy the link. Check the link is the correct format. For example: https://player.vimeo.com/video/524933864.
- Once the link has been copied, paste it into the URL field.
- YouTube: In YouTube, select the video then select Share / Embed. In the Embed Video window, copy the Embed URL. For example, https://www.youtube.com/embed/EoUi2DmAHIY.
- Enter the Button text to be displayed in the workspace for the video.
- Select Save.
The video-only course is now ready to be published. To check everything is working as expected, select Preview course.
