You may receive this notification if a change you made to an environment configuration failed to update the live environment. The error notification normally provides additional details relating to the cause of the failure.
Address [a.b.c.d] is in use
This error can occur when you replace a VM from a live environment and attempt to update the environment. Heropa performs updates relating to additions prior to completing removal updates. In this case the old VM still exists in the live environment when the new VM addition is attempted.
To resolve this error
The VM replacement needs to be complete in two steps with an update in between.
Remove the newly added VM and perform an update to the environment. This will destroy the VM using the IP address and subsequently release the IP address.
You can now add the replacement VM, set the IP address correctly and then perform an update to the environment.
